AI Assistant Setup
Setting up Alexa, Google Home, or Siri is supposed to be plug-and-play. It usually is -- until it isn't. Wrong account, wrong network, wrong ecosystem, and suddenly nothing works and you don't know why.
We'll handle the whole thing for $99.99 -- device setup, smart home linking, routines, the works.
Alexa has 100,000 skills. You will use four of them.
Before you start:
- •Never share your assistant account password -- linked accounts give access to shopping, calendar, and home control
- •Smart home devices default to 'always listening' -- review privacy settings and voice history deletion options in the app
- •Guest WiFi setups can block device discovery -- smart home devices usually need to be on the same network as your phone
- •Echo devices require an active Amazon account -- if the account is closed, the device stops working entirely
- •Do not place smart speakers near smoke detectors -- they can trigger false wake words during chirping
What you'll need
Have these ready before you open the box.
Each ecosystem has different setup quirks. Know which one you're dealing with before you start.
Amazon Alexa app, Google Home app, or Apple Home app. The assistant lives in the app -- the hardware is just a speaker.
Have this ready. Most smart speakers prefer 2.4GHz for range, but newer ones support 5GHz. You'll need the password during setup.
Amazon account for Alexa, Google account for Google Home, Apple ID for HomePod. Without the right account, nothing pairs.
Smart bulbs, plugs, thermostats, locks -- if you're connecting these, have their apps and credentials ready before you start the assistant setup.
The steps
9 steps. Read Step 1 carefully -- it saves you from redoing everything later.
