Photography Lessons & Camera Training
You have a great camera. The photos don't match. The gap isn't the gear -- it's 6 specific settings and a few habits. One session changes both.
Hands-on, camera-in-hand training specific to your model and how you shoot. On-site from $99.99, remote from $49.99.
The camera is smarter than Auto. You just haven't unlocked that part yet.
To get the most out of the session:
- •Bring YOUR camera to the session -- this is hands-on, camera-in-hand training, not a lecture
- •Know your camera brand before booking -- Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Fuji menus are different enough that the session is camera-specific
- •Bring a fully charged battery and a formatted SD card
- •Remote sessions work best for settings, menus, and editing -- for composition and AF tracking practice, in-person is more effective
What the session covers
Tailored to your level. If you know some of this already, we skip to where you're stuck.
Exposure -- the actual way to understand it
The exposure triangle isn't three equal levers -- aperture controls depth of field and light, shutter controls motion, ISO controls sensitivity and noise. Understanding which one to reach for first in a given situation is the skill. We teach the decision, not the definition.
Autofocus modes and when to use which
Single-point AF for static subjects, continuous/tracking AF for motion, Eye-AF for portraits. Which button activates which mode on YOUR specific camera. And back-button focus -- the single change that improves most photographers' hit rate immediately.
Reading histograms
The histogram tells you whether your exposure is correct, regardless of how the photo looks on a bright LCD screen. Understanding the shape -- clipped highlights on the right, crushed shadows on the left -- is how professional photographers expose reliably in any light.
Shooting in Manual mode (and when NOT to)
Manual gives full control. But Aperture Priority + Auto ISO is the right choice 80% of the time. We show you when Manual is actually necessary and when it's just slowing you down.
Composition -- where to put things and why
Rule of thirds, leading lines, negative space, subject-background separation. These aren't rules to follow -- they're patterns that explain why some photos feel balanced and others don't. Once you see them, you can't unsee them.
Editing fundamentals -- Lightroom or Apple Photos
RAW files need processing. We cover the six sliders that matter: exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, white balance, and clarity. Everything else is secondary.
